wine and cheese

last night we had a wine and cheese/end of the semester party. it was a lot of fun. i did not take entirely enough pictures, but here's what i have. other people will hopefully be sending me photos as well.

first though, here are some pictures of the snow that i took on friday morning when i walked down to the med school.

walking down hillhouse:

and the new haven green is very pretty:

now for the wine and cheese photos....

here are karl and matt drinking mead. the mead was yummy like liquid honey. which makes sense because that's what it is.

liz, jade, manav, and carlos pose for the camera.

liz brought a frozen apple pie that she wanted to get rid of and chris and jade promised to eat it. they each ate about a slice. brad almost bet them $20 that they couldn't eat the whole thing, but then saw that the pie was small and backed out of the bet. they totally would have eaten the whole thing too. but instead they didn't and i had to run after chris to make him take the rest of the pie home. no one in my house eats apple pie.

jenny and rich all dressed up. and drinking beer at a wine and cheese party. so silly.

rich, karl, jenny, and casey, who didn't realize that she was in the picture.

now knowing that the camera was pointed at her, casey smiles with jade and manav.

jade, manav, and caty.

me and a bunch of boys: matt, chris, and brad.

rich, karl, jenny, and casey.

caty and alice in the kitchen with all the rediculous amounts of food that i made.

jade and manav trying to shoot rubber bands.

jade was having trouble with the rubber bands and it was funny.

chris and alice tried to help her out. and she finally managed to shoot a rubber band across the room. hooray!!

and finally, chris played the magnetic trumpet.

there is so much leftover food it is rediculous. i still have pie and a whole pile of cookies. and so much cheese to eat. and a couple half bottles of wine as well.

we ended the evening by playing apples to apples for a bit and then the last people left around 2am. erica then offered matt pajamas which i thought was hilarious. but very nice of her. i think everyone had a good night and a lot of fun!

and now i get to have leftover wine with dinner every night this week. assuming that i finish the cell bio take home final and finally pick a topic for my paper that's due the 19th.

fluffies like parties more than homework. and so do i.

sns is doing city of angels for carnival

and i couldn't be more pissed that i am not in pittsburgh right now.

i am really proud of poop for getting this show passed and having the opportunity to direct it. i know it is his baby, and i'm very very happy for him. and also very excited to go back to cmu for carnival this year and see the show.

however, i can't help feeling a little disappointed and left out. i should be back there choreographing that show. or acting in it. or giving input on direction and design, color schemes, black and white vs color ideas. something. i feel like i put so much energy, effort, thought into city of angels two years ago that there is no way that i can't be involved now. although that would probably require dropping out of grad school next semester, and that doesn't seem like a real possibilty.

i'm sure the show will go well. i hope that poop can find all the actors he needs. i know that will probably be one of the hardest parts of putting this show together.

i suppose i will have to content myself with singing my heart out along with the soundtrack. maybe i'll use one of the songs as an audition piece someday.

who's apartment/house am i staying at during carnival weekend? does anyone have an extra couch/bed space/piece of floor for me to sleep on?

fluffies like city of angels too.

sorry, brad, if this post is not exciting and funny enough for you. here's a funny quote from the simpsons:

bart: look at me. i'm a grad student. i made $600 last year!
marge: don't make fun of grad students, bart. they just made the wrong life choice.

a joke for brad

something funny sent to me from erica....

a woman walks into the pharmacy and asks the pharmacist for some cyanide.

the pharmacist says, "why do you need cyanide?"

she answers, "to kill my husband."

the pharmacist replies, "i can't sell you cyanide to kill your husband. that would be terrible."

the woman pulls out a photo of her husband in bed with the pharmacist's wife.

"oh," says the pharmacist, "i didn't realize you had a perscription."

is that good enough???
